The Bag Lady and The Pro

I’m not the best photographer on the best of days, but today I outdid myself, I think.  You never realize how dark it is in your house until you attempt to take pictures when daylight is gone.

At any rate, I want to share anyway.  First, the finished bag for ITEIV.  I really hope my pal likes it - I’ve seen some pretty spectacular bags go out!

It can be slung over one shoulder and sits around the hip area.  I tried doing a bathroom shot with it that way on me, but let’s just say that I added “Clean bathroom mirror” to my list of chores and leave it at that, shall we?  I realize it’s not spectacular, but my pal likes bright colors and ‘bling’ on her bags and totes.. so I tried to make something I thought she’d enjoy. I didn’t use a pattern, I made it up as I went along (Yea, I know. Use a pattern, eh? heh)  We’ll see how she likes it!

And while waiting at the dealer this morning (My Air Fuel Regulator Sensor Something or Other needs to be replaced - at the bargain price of around $400 bucks. Can you say “Knit from your stash”?), I managed to finish turning the heal on the horcrux. Again, totally craptacular pic, but hopefully you get the general idea. I’m REALLY hoping to finish these up this weekend. I’ve got to do some load testing, so hopefully I can have sock 1 done by the weekend and whip out sock 2 in a mad frenzy of knittingness!

Other than that, let’s see.  Things I am waiting on and doing:

• I should be getting a big ole mail influx soon!  I’m waiting on my Green Swap package, my ITEIV spoiler just told me she sent that off, and I’ve got 2 prizes coming. I WAS waiting on an order from Coldwater Creek, but was more than a little disappointed to get a letter from them that said nothing more than “Your items are no longer available”.  They had a huge sale in their online shop, but it’d seem to me that it’s rather odd for a computerized system to sell TWO items that are totally not even available, and I’d think that a bit more explanation would have been forthcoming.  Though it’s probably for the best with the impending car bill.
• My nephew’s going to be playing soccer on TV! Sorta.  It’s more like streaming video, but he’s in a HUGE soccer tourney in Minneapolis. You can see pics of he and my sis and what not at her family blog.
• Moms are blogging everywhere! I’m trying to get my mom to post more often on her blog - and check this out! Devon’s mom has her own blog! And she’s knitting! Way cool huh??
• To add to all things Harry Potter, Michelle should be posting up another HP Dishcloth pattern soon! If you haven’t, you should definitely check out her first one - she’s got quite the future as a designer I’m sure!
• Annd.. once I finish my socks I need to get down to business on my package for my Dishcloth Swap pal and get to vacationing for my VVS Pal!

And with that, I’m off to see about updating a few things on other blogs!
