(Anne) In Which There’s a Special Day
I started spending time ‘online’ back when doing so required dialing in on a 2400 modem (OH how excited I was when we got our first 14.4!), and most folks equated the internet with AOL. I met a lot of people that way. One of them was a boy I ended up living with for five years more or less, who broke my heart more than once.
The other though, is one of those friends who never ‘goes away’ or breaks your heart, who holds that special place in your heart no boy’s ever allowed to go. Interestingly enough, we ran across one another on a list-serv for folks who love a silly old bear. We’ve only ever shared a cuppa ‘in real life’ on as many occasions as I can count on one hand, yet she’s been there for me consistently through more than I can even begin to describe. Suffice to say it involves many boys, five states, and more tears than I can recall.
And a year ago, I nudged and bugged and pushed and prodded and got her to do what she knew she wanted to - to begin a blog.
Go see Chan, and wish her well on this, her one year blogiversary - in true knit loving fashion, she’s having a contest, and you can tell her I sent you, or just say Congrats! She’s a lovely lady, and I know she’ll be thrilled you stopped by.
